Future Driver

Katie tried out the driver's seat with Daddy today. She liked that it had a much bigger steering wheel than her little pink car!

Pool

We bought Katie an inflatable pool to enjoy on our back deck. She loves playing in the water and with all the water toys. Here are some cute pictures of her pool experiences.

Fake Cough

Mommy has a cough from her allergies. Katie has decided to "cough" after Mommy does and look around to see if anyone noticed her coughing. She is too funny with the fake cough.

Walking

Happy Father's Day

We went to breakfast and for a hike for Father's Day. It was hot and humid for the hike, but everyone did well and enjoyed the time outside. Katie was nice enough to say "dada" repeatedly through the walk to celebrate Father's Day.

Pacifier Addiction

Katie loves her pacifiers. She is only allowed to have them when sleeping or in the car. When she is sleeping, she has to have at least 3 in her crib. This is how we find her in the morning. This is going to be a hard habit to break one day.

Barrette

Katie finally has enough hair for a barrette. We went to the store to buy some yesterday and tried it out when we got home.

Mama

Katie walked up to me today and said "Mama." She then gave me a big slobbery kiss on the cheek and cuddled for a few seconds. She is just the sweetest baby. I was glad to finally hear "Mama."

Katie Walking

I have tried repeatedly to get a video of Katie walking (she can now walk from one end of the house to the other without holding onto anything), but she just does not cooperate when the video camera is on. This is the best video I could get, but it has her holding on to furniture, with just a brief window of walking on her own. Don't mind the bad cinematography skills by Mommy (it is hard to watch her and videotape at the same time).

Talking

Katie is a little chatterbox now. She has three words that she uses: "Dada," "Alilla" (Meaning Camilla), and "Dat" (That? - Usually with her finger pointing to something). Mommy is trying not to worry that Mama is not in the vocabulary yet. It is fun to listen to her talk now.

Camilla's Photo

Katie loves a picture frame we have on our nightstand with Camilla's photo. She loves to carry it around with her when she is upstairs. She also took the frame and put it in Camilla's bed the other day! She is such a sweet baby - she was putting "Camilla" to bed!

FDU

We took Katie and Camilla to our old college, FDU, on Saturday and let them play behind the mansion. They both had a great time. We are starting the push for college early!

Steps

Katie took about 10 steps on her own on Sunday. She did some more steps on her own today. She will be walking everywhere without holding our hand very soon. Our baby is officially a toddler now.

Chocolate Icing

Grandma made cupcakes with chocolate icing and we gave one to Katie (who loved it)! Here is the "after" picture...

Grandma & Pop-pop

Grandma and Pop-pop came to visit on Sunday to watch Katie so that Daddy and Mommy could get some chores done. Katie had a great time with them and loved showing off her new skills. Unfortunately, we forgot to get pictures of Katie with them but here is Katie holding the new toys they brought her.

All These Toys and My Favorite Is...

The water bottle! Daddy gave Katie an empty water bottle on Saturday and she thought it was a lot more fun than the rest of her toys...
