On the Inside Looking Out

Here is what you will see on any Saturday or Sunday in the Finlay house. After Katie's breakfast, her and Camilla both love to sit and stare out the back sliding glass doors.

Standing to Play

Katie loves any excuse to stand. Since she can't do it on her own, we help her out when she wants to play with her toys.

6 Month Check-up

Katie went for her 6-month check-up today. She is now weighing 18 lbs. 4 oz. and is 27 3/4 inches long! She is still in the 90th percentile for weight and 97th percentile for height. Katie (and Mommy) handled the shots better today - there were only a few tears on both sides! She also got her first flu shot today. The nurses had a hard time giving Katie her shots because she would not let go of her feet!

Apricots

Katie has loved every new food we have tried...until today. We tried apricots with mixed fruit (which had apples, pears and bananas - she loves these individually). Either she does not like the apricots (which Mommy eats a lot of dried apricots, so I am surprised) or she did not like the combination. This is the face I kept getting when I had her try them.

Playtime with Daddy

Katie does not usually see Daddy during the work week, so she enjoys her playtime with him on the weekends. She likes to show him all of her new skills that she has acquired during the week (this weekend the skills included her new belly laugh, sitting up better, and more consonant noises).

First Cold

It's official...Katie has her first cold. She seems to still be in pretty good spirits despite the sniffles and coughs. She was also nice enough to share it with Mommy and Daddy. We seem to be complaining about the cold more than Katie!

Happy Birthday

Today was a big day in our house. Not only was it Mommy's birthday, but Katie turned 6 months also! It is hard to believe that a half of a year has already passed.

Trying Out a Purse

Katie decided to take her Halloween basket that usually holds her Halloween toys and put it on her shoulder while she played today. She kept it on most of the time while she continued to play with other toys!

Sitting!

Katie can now sit independently for a few minutes. She loves being able to play while she sits. She still loves the feet and can't even let go for playing!
